PASHA workshop in Kampala Empowers Refugees Through Art expressions

 

Kampala, Uganda – In a remarkable gathering on Saturday, August 12, 2023, the PASHA – the Refugees Storytelling and Poetry Club, hosted a transformative workshop under the guidance of the esteemed facilitator, RAIS NEZA BONEZA. Located in the heart of Kampala, this event brought together a diverse group of individuals eager to discover, share, and express themselves through a fusion of engaging activities.

 

The workshop, held at PASHA – the Refugee Storytelling and Poetry Club, featured a carefully curated agenda that allowed participants to forge connections, explore the roots of PASHA, unleash their creative potential, and witness captivating artistic performances.

Building Bridges: The Power of Networking

The day commenced with an introduction and networking session, fostering a warm atmosphere where participants could get acquainted with one another and RAIS NEZA BONEZA, the facilitator. This initial interaction aimed to build bridges, creating a comfortable space for future exchanges and collaborations.

PASHA Unveiled: A Journey into Artistic Expression

Following the introductions, participants delved into an enlightening presentation on PASHA itself. This segment provided an in-depth look at the origins, motivations, and aspirations behind PASHA – an initiative dedicated to amplifying the voices of refugees through art and creative expression. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the profound significance of this endeavor and the role it plays in empowering marginalized communities.

Awakening Creativity: A Journey of Words and Emotions

The highlight of the workshop was an interactive creative exercise that ignited participants’ imaginations. Armed with only the first letter of their own names, attendees crafted short poems using five positive words. This innovative activity not only expanded their vocabulary but also encouraged exploration of the rich tapestry of sounds and rhythms, fostering an environment ripe for creativity.

The Stage is Set: A Showcase of Talent and Inspiration

 

The day continued with a showcase of artistic performances by a variety of participants. Musicians, poets, rappers, and storytellers took the stage, offering moments of relaxation and inspiration.
